Joining the influx of Korean BBQ restaurants in the eastern suburbs - Hinoak sets itself apart with its beautiful design and extraordinary service that is unrivalled by any restaurant I've been to.
This is such a beautiful restaurant that is inspired by asian and modern influences. I loved the distance between the tables which gave us some privacy and less noise. The service as mentioned was amazing - so attentive and used Korean etiquette such as bowing. On another note - there is a great variety of alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks and I would highly recommend the cocktails!
First up for food was the Kimchi Pancake which was perfectly crispy and not too spicy for the chilli-fearing people out there (like me). It was packed with veggies as it should be and was quite a large serving so a great share dish to start off with for a large group.
As a main we shared the Army Hotpot which was massive! Such a generous serving and left both of us STUFFED so maybe better to share with more than two. It was delicious and not too spicy with a soup that I could not fault as it was PERFECT in every way. There was so much in the stew and so much variety that every time I went in for more I found something new. Not only did it taste good but it was pretty to look at too!
Though this was a relatively pricey KBBQ spot for the area I think it more than makes up for that with the generosity of servings and the four free sides you get with your meal. I honestly could not fault this restaurant and will DEFINITELY be back again.
